Why does my PDF look fine on screen but wrong in print?

Screens use light (primary colours). Print uses ink (secondary colours). Colours, contrast, and sharpness behave differently.Screens lighten away from black to achieve colour where as print darkens away from white. Colour can also look different on different screens.

What resolution should images be?

300dpi at print size. Anything lower will look soft or pixelated. Anything less than 200dpi wil look low quality. If you are unsure, our prepress software will warn of low resolution images
